OVERVIEW

Vistrada’s client needed a solution to an urgent request from a Financial Services customer. The end customer needed to create a large data store of all TPRM compliance status info for all of its vendors. This register was to be shared with multiple global subsidiaries and would also serve as the source for their future TPRM reporting and dashboarding needs.  Vistrada rapidly assessed the requirements and developed a viable solution using Tableau to generate the TPRM data register in less than 6 weeks.

OUTCOME

The Vistrada team worked with the client to understand the complexities of the multiple data sources and data transformations involved, and ultimately leveraged Tableau Prep to develop the TPRM data store. The team leveraged their Tableau expertise to deliver the TPRM data register into Production in less than 6 weeks, meeting the end customer’s aggressive timeline.  The engagement also established a foundation for development and delivery of new TPRM reports and dashboards using Tableau. 

Challenge

Vistrada’s direct client, who provides a leading TPRM technology platform to global organizations, was seeking a creative solution to an urgent, critical ask from one of their Financial Services customers.  The end client needed to generate a large data store that contained all TPRM compliance status information for all its vendors. This data register was to be shared monthly with multiple subsidiaries across the global organization, and would also serve as the source for all of the client’s future TPRM reporting and dashboarding needs.  Due to the client’s aggressive timeframe to implement this new data store in Production in less than 6 weeks, it was not possible to develop the solution within the native TPRM technology platform. Vistrada was engaged to rapidly assess the requirements and seek a viable solution leveraging Tableau to generate the TPRM data register.

The TPRM data register was delivered in < 6 weeks, allowing the client to meet its global risk compliance requirements.    

Solution

  • Worked closely with both the direct client and their customer team to review available requirements and design documentation in order to fully understand and scope the effort.
  • Performed detailed analysis on the TPRM field mappings and developed a Proof of Concept to validate that the desired solution was feasible within the constraints of the Tableau toolset.
  • Actively collaborated with the client teams to aggressively address all remaining questions, missing columns, mappings, and to structure the data to align with Tableau standards.
  • Leveraged Tableau Prep to develop the optimal solution to address all data sources, spreadsheets, queries, and processes to generate the TPRM data register in Tableau.
  • Supported multiple rounds of reviews and troubleshooting with the client through UAT and Production until final acceptance and approval of the solution was received.

Result

  • Delivered the TPRM data register into Production in less than 6 weeks, meeting the end client’s aggressive timeline and expectations.
  • Provided a very positive client experience for all parties, who expressed high satisfaction with Vistrada’s responsiveness, ability to deliver, and expertise with Tableau.
  • Established a strong data foundation for enabling the future creation of new TPRM reports and dashboards using Tableau.
  • Introduced new Tableau capabilities and services, such as Tableau Prep, which will now be leveraged to expedite the creation of future reports and dashboards.
